It recognizes the power of the disembodied heart (double-tap to like) over the still embodied person—the way that small-red-shape was devised to capitalize on the human condition: our desire to be seen [at our best, unseen at anything less], known, and loved...

The mirror-selfie gives a person the most control over their image—to present as perfect as one can be. But the problem of the mirror-selfie is that perfection is not the pinnacle of perfection. The pinnacle of perfection is effortless perfection, which means one must conceal their trying. The mirror-selfie is a show-off. It wanted to post its own picture, but literally no one asked. A mirror-selfie cannot hide its trying.
